SOUTH HOLLAND, IL–South Suburban College Board Chairman Frank Zuccarelli and President Don Manning recently addressed the Southland Ministerial Health Network (SMHN). Both Manning and Zuccarelli spoke to the esteemed group of church and community leaders about the health and educational needs of the south suburbs.
Zuccarelli stated in his emotional speech, “Enough is enough; the residents of the south suburbs have been ignored for too long. We must band together. We are not looking for a handout; we are just looking for an opportunity.” Zuccarelli and Manning spoke further about the budget crisis in Illinois and how the crisis is preventing south suburban residents from receiving education and workforce training.
Zuccarelli is also the Thornton Township Supervisor and pledged the support of the Township and the College to the Southland Ministerial Health Network. SMHN provides assistance to underserved residents of the south suburbs of Chicago.
