South Suburban College Providing Options to its Community Comply with State Vax or Test Mandate – UPDATED


SOUTH HOLLAND, IL – In response to Governor JB Pritzker and IDPH Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike’s announcement of a new COVID-19 vaccine requirement for higher education personnel and students, South Suburban College (SSC) has set a September 24th deadline for proof of vaccination via www.ssc.edu/c19vax. COVID-19 testing will become a weekly requirement for employees and students who do not comply.

SSC continues to provide both drive-thru COVID-19 testing and Johnson & Johnson vaccinations at no cost. The one dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine is available for individuals ages 18 years and older. Vaccination is available three days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and free testing is available the same days plus Saturday. The drive-thru set up at the College’s Main Campus is located within the Northwest parking lot at 15800 South State Street, South Holland, Illinois.

Beginning Monday, October 25th, the SHIELD Illinois rapid testing program at the Oak Forest Center (OFC) will only be available on Mondays from 7-9 a.m. Testing results are available within 24 hours. To schedule an appointment, a SHIELD Illinois account may be created through Portal.shieldillinois.com using agency code df5brbrj for this location. The OFC is conveniently located near I-57 at 16333 South Kilbourn Avenue, Oak Forest, Illinois.
