South Suburban College Fall Musical Performances

All events are held in the Kindig Performing Arts Center (PAC) on SSC’s Main Campus and
admission is FREE for these events. (Donations are appreciated to benefit the Music
Scholarship Fund.)

November 18, 2016 – 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
Orchestra Festival, with clinician Philip Bauman. A non-competitive festival that features Jr. High, Middle and High School orchestras. All performances are open and free to the public. Come and see some outstanding young performers! For more info, contact Rob Calhoon at 708-596-2000, ext. 2299.

December 6, 2016 – 2:00 pm
Student Recital. Students of SSC Music Faculty perform a variety of classical pieces. No charge for admission.

December 7, 2016 – 7:00 pm
Jazz Combo and Jazz Orchestra Concert. Hot jazz for a cold winter’s night. The musicians of SSC’s Jazz Combo and Jazz Orchestra will thrill you with tunes by such jazz legends as Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Thad Jones, and Dizzy Gillespie. Come on through! Both groups are led by Sam Hankins. No charge for admission.

December 9, 2016 – 7:00 pm
Holiday Concert (SSC Voices, PAC Rats, and Symphonic Band). Join the good cheer as the SSC Voices, PAC Rats Theatre Company, Symphonic Band present their annual Holiday Card to the Community. No charge for admission.

December 12, 2016 – 7:00 pm
String Orchestra and Chamber String Ensemble Concert. SSC’s newest musical groups will perform works by Johannes Brahms, Leroy Anderson, Felix Mendelssohn, Paul Desmond, and Antonio Vivaldi. No charge for admission.
