ALLEN J. BRYSON (Keynote Speaker)

Allen J. Bryson is an author, poet, spoken-word artist, motivational speaker, and educational specialist. He has been writing and performing spoken-word and delivering speeches for over ten years.

He uses spoken word, poetry, motivational speaking and development seminars to empower individuals with words, wisdom, power and passion. There are no great people born; just regular people who grow into their greatness. My efforts are to redefine what’s popular and eradicate what is psychologically toxic and obstructive. This mission is to prove that you have the power to change the circumstances in your life by your words, your thoughts and your decisions.

DESMOND CAMPBELL

Desmond has worked in education for the past twenty years. He’s been an instructor for eleven years, a program coordinator for eight years and a consultant for four years. Desmond’s areas of concentration are electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, applied engineering, computer aided drafting, Maker Lab, robotics and STEM camps. He has created and modified curriculums for all areas of engineering. He has plotted pathways from middle school through college for students.

Desmond is the manager of the SouthWorks Maker Lab at South Suburban College. He also is an instructor of Electronic Engineering Technology, Applied Engineering Technology and Computer Aided Design at SSC. He helps people and businesses create ideas and transform them though rapid prototype. He teaches people to use 3D printers, laser cutters and CNC machines to give tangible life to their ideas.

Desmond received the Dr. Steve Springer award for innovative technology. He has been published in Automation Direct for PLCs and was one of the founders of the SSC Maker lab.

BRIAN FRANKS

Brian Franks is a Plant Manager for ITW Zippak. ITW or Illinois Tool Works, is an American Fortune 200 company that produces engineered fasteners and components, equipment and consumable systems, and specialty products.

Brian is a 25 year manufacturing professional who has has worked in various industries including industrial products, automotive, aerospace, and food packaging. He’s held leadership roles in operations, manufacturing engineering and plant management. Brian holds BS in Technical Operations Management, an MBA, and a Master in Education with a concentration in Human Resource Development.  Brian has a passion for teaching and looks forward to having you in one of his classes one day.
