About the presenter: Mike Garth was born on the Westside of Chicago, Illinois, at Cook County Hospital in 1959. He spent his early years in Chicago before moving to Calumet City in 2000. In 2001, Mike began working at South Suburban College, where he dedicated over two decades of service before retiring in 2023. Now retired, Mike is pursuing his passion for advocating non-violence and working with troubled youth and adults to inspire positive change. His journey of perseverance is a milestone that fuels his commitment to uplifting others.
