Mental Health First Aid Certification Training will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the MB Room on the first floor of the Main Campus. Mental Health First Aid USA is an 8-hour certification course that teaches a five-step action plan encompassing the skills, resources and knowledge to help an individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer and self-help care. Participants learn the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, build understanding of the importance of early intervention and, most importantly, provide support to someone in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Pre-coursework hours must be completed at least 48 hours prior to the training.

To register, email Alexandra Glumac at aglumac@ssc.edu. The deadline to RSVP for this training is Monday, July 8, 2024 at noon. Training is open and free to current SSC employees and students only. Call (708) 596-2000, ext. 2393 for more information.
