Bystander Intervention Training
February 12 @ 2:00 PM - 3:15 PM
The Office of Violence Against Women invites all faculty, staff and students to attend Bystander Intervention Training. This free training positions attendees to actively intervene in incidents of domestic/dating violence, stalking and sexual assault
(DVSAS). The following will be discussed: definitions of key terms, warning signs of DVSAS, review and application of violence-reduction strategies, barriers to being an active bystander, and available resources for those in need.
Training will be held virtually via Zoom. Email Alexandra Glumac at aglumac@ssc.edu with your name and date selection. You must reserve your spot in order to receive the Zoom link. Reservations MUST be made by noon the day before the day of the workshop. Attendees will receive a certificate of completion once session evaluation is complete.
Many instructors offer extra credit for attending this important workshop. Students are encouraged to talk with their instructors to see if they qualify. Service learning credits are available, as well.
