Transcripts

An official transcript is a complete record of courses taken, grades received, and academic credentials earned at South Suburban College, including degrees, certificates, and basic certificates.

South Suburban College offers online transcript ordering 24/7 through Parchment. Students may submit and track their transcript orders online.

Only the student may request their transcript. Student academic records are protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).

Official Transcript Requests

Students may request official transcripts in one of the following ways:

Online: Submit a request through Parchment. $9.98 per transcript, plus applicable fees.

In person: Visit the Business and Accounting Office, located on the 2nd floor, to complete a transcript request form.

Please note: The Records Department stops processing immediate transcript requests at 2:00 p.m. Requests received after 2:00 p.m. will be processed the next business day.

Legacy Transcript Requests

Students who attended SSC prior to 2010 may have archived records. Please allow for additional processing time.

Unofficial Transcripts

Current students may view unofficial transcripts through SSC Self-Service.

Former students may request an unofficial transcript by contacting the Records Department by email at Records@ssc.edu.

Please include your full name, student ID number if available, and a copy of your current state-issued ID.

Release of Transcripts with past due balance:

In accordance with the Student Debt Assistance Act (110 ILCS 66/), South Suburban College will release official transcripts to a current or former students with outstanding balance if the request is to:

  • Employment purposes;
  • Transfer from one institution of higher education to another;
  • Apply for state, federal, or institutional financial aid;
  • Join the United States Armed Forces or Illinois National Guard; or
  • Pursue other postsecondary opportunities

The standard transcript processing free will apply to all requests.

Transcripts requested for these purposes will be sent directly to the designated recipient.

Students with financial obligations who need a transcript for a reason not listed above should contact Business & Accounting at (708) 596-2000, ext. 5720 before submitting a transcript request.

Foreign Transcript Evaluation

Students submitting foreign high school and/or college transcripts must have their documents evaluated by Educational Credentials Evaluators, Inc. before their first semester at SSC.

Students are responsible for all associated evaluation fees.
