Phenomenon of urbanization. Growth of metropolitan areas; resultant changes in American life styles, values; present state of urban society in interrelationship between central city and suburban areas in regional planning.

URB 141 - African-American Arts (3, 3)

Contribution of African-Americans to art, music, philosophy from 1600 to 1970s.

URB 214 - Minority Groups Politics (3, 3)

Prerequisite: PSC 101 or 102

Basic political theory, as it relates to urban community power structures. Emphasis on political context within which Black communities exist; use and potential of political power in reform movement.
