Dear Students past, present and future:

Over 100 years ago, community colleges were created as publicly funded institutions at community-based facilities, providing higher education opportunities to everyone. We began a policy of welcoming all who wished to learn, regardless of race, religion, gender, age, wealth or previous academic experience.

Today, South Suburban College joins 1,000 community colleges throughout the United States sharing common goals of quality, accessibility, and affordability. Our mission "to Serve our Students and the Community through lifelong learning" endures, in spite of pending immigration legislation. As a safeguard for our students, SSC adheres to the Higher Education Act and FERPA, which protect the privacy of student data.
